I disagree about tackle. I jig for tog with a medium spinning rod and a 2500 reel. I use 15lb braid and a 50lb leader...I've caught them up to 22" with this setup

Skin that lion and cut into thick steaks and pepper it up and grill it rare and serve with horseradish cream sauce. And eat that puppy like it's beef. The meat is nice and red.
